About This Game

From the developers of the BIT.TRIP series comes Bubsy: Paws on Fire!, the latest and greatest in bobcat-based gaming.

Oinker P. Hamm is determined to capture every animal in the universe for his “Amazootorium.” Bubsy, fearing mostly for himself, is just as determined to stop him. Two archrivals, stitched together by the cruel knitting needles of fate. No matter who emerges victorious, there is one thing we know for certain: There’s going to be a whole lot of yarn along the way.

So, so much yarn.

Features:
  • Four playable characters, each with their own unique mechanics! Fly and shoot your way through the air as The Woolie, take it underground with Arnold’s bonus levels, or run your way to victory with Bubsy and Virgil Reality!
  • An all-new story featuring the unlikely alliance between Bubsy and his archrivals, The Woolies!
  • Over 100 levels set across three different worlds!
  • Three boss battles!
  • A unique combo system and set of leaderboards for every character!
  • A shop with costumes and cosmetics, all of which players can unlock just by playing the game. There are no in-game purchases!
  • Unique character dialog for every level!
  • A variety of collectible types, ensuring maximum replayability!

  • The return of Oinker, Terri, Terry, and many other characters from previous Bubsy incarnations! We even have Virgil Reality from the Bubsy cartoon pilot—we dug deep!

Bubsy: Paws on Fire! user review

A boringly mediocre runner. It goes on for waaaaaaaaayyy longer than it should've and the color pallette is soul suckingly dry. This game dosen't even have an ironic humor/enjoyment factor. It's just an excruciatingly bland runner game.
Amazingly enough, this isn't bad at all!
Bubsy Paws on Fire! as a game is O K.
And on the 3rd day he rose again
    Target Audience:
I used to like Bubsy alot back in the day on the Sega Megadrive and bought the two fur game and played it for a bit and thought i give this one a try but was very disappointed, i could't explore or even freely run it just reminded me of super mario run but with Bubsy and friends.
He's done it! He's finally made his first good game. This game is a lot like the runner series as how it's an "auto runner" type of game. If you liked those games, be sure to give this a try. Bubsy Doesn't talk as much during his adventure this time around. Don't believe me? He says so himself. I love the humor in this game, The characters are self-aware as to that they know their in a game, and not just that, they are also aware of the reputation the Bubsy series in general has. And ALL of the levels are named after puns! If you love auto running platformers in general, give this a try. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
Ah, this game. A notable improvement over the last one! Though don't get your hopes up, it's still not exactly good (not even on Bubsy standards, although it does come close) and has some glaring flaws and some disappointments, but it's at least entertaining and it does some things well enough. It also doesn't help that I don't care much for runners and I feel like this would have been stronger if it was just a normal platformer, but meh, whatever.
This game wasn't ever going to be a big one. Expecting Bubsy to be on the same page as other platformer characters from his time was going to be a mistake, and obviously going in with nothing but hate for him would destroy all positives for this. However, for what we got, we got an average to good game this time around. There's obviously some finicky stuff, the controls were awkward for Arnold's bonus levels, having to play the same levels twice can get repetitive and the bosses are still kinda a joke, plus there's the obvious day one bugs here and there, but as a simple runner game with the Bubsy IP, the game did alot of things right that were little done or missing from Woolies Strike Back, especially FEELING like a Bubsy game. WSB just felt like Giana Sisters with some Bubsy lines. POF actually had a nice blend of playing like Runner, but feeling like Bubsy with how they played, their lines and the level designs themselves. I do wish there was more to the customization, i wish the credits actually credited the voice actors this time and i do hope this game's gets updates to improve itself over time, but i am giving this game a thumbs up because it is, whether people like to admit or not, a GOOD Bubsy game, and that is a very nice improvement over the mediocre one that was Woolies Strike Back. All i can say for this is that it's a step in the right direction and i'm hopeful that the next game improves from this one in many ways too. I am thoroughly looking forward to what comes next for the bobcat. - Xin

Oh Bubsy. This series was nercomanced back into existence and I both love and hate that fact. The bad news was that Woolies Strike Back was bad. Not as bad as the original games, but still bad. (Played on ps4) Then this oddity comes along. Made by the same studio who made one of my favorite games of all time Bit.Trip Runner 2. This game already has much better presentation that WSB. For one, we have actual cutscenes. They may not be the best, but at least we got them. It means they listened to feedback that WSB was given. This game is a runner similar to Bit.Trip. You cycle between 4 characters to get collectables and medals to progress. Each character has a different playstyle. Bubsy plays very similarly to anyone who played Bit.Trip games before. Then there is Virgil who also plays like a Bit.Trip character. Then you have Woolie who flys. Not much more to say about her. Then you have the Arnold levels and his levels are incredibly similar to the bonus stages from Sonic 2, except Tails isn't screwing you over by running into stuff. His levels seem to be easiest as well. All in all, I'd still say pick this game up on a sale, but this game is honestly kind of good. My only technical issue is this game is plauged by micro stuttering. I couldn't play for more than an hour before the game started giving me a headache. The fact they weren't from Bubsy's jokes and puns means there is something wrong. If the issue ever gets fixed, then I'd say pick this game up. It's suprisingly not all that bad. Weird to say about a Bubsy game, but I guess it's about time.
as a bubsy fan i am really happy bubsy did not give up despite some heat hate by some people
Hey guuys so i was just playing bubsy: paws of fire and i couldnt halp but noticne that when he was shocked be elecrtisicity you could see his skeleton and I saw the similarities between his skeleton and sans undertale. does anyone else see this?
I'm perfectly capable of hitting left and right, thank you!
The game is a pretty standard autorunner that consists of 27 levels (81 when combining the Bubsy, Virgil and Woolie stages), 27 special stages (where you play as Arnold) and 3 bosses.
Before the dawn of time, the elder gods pondered what would be the most horrific atrocity that of which they could release among the cosmos to wreak havoc. after eons of contemplating, the unfathomable beasts that our puny minds dare not think names for, as our lowly human tongues cannot begin to pronounce such alien languages, came across the horrid realization that only one being could bring such suffering to the universe that they despise...
Surprisingly a really well-done Bubsy game. The devs behind the Bit.Trip Runner managed to make Bubsy into a worthwhile game and it's honestly kind of surreal. Price is a bit steep so I'd reccomend waiting for a sale, but overall it''s a decent game.
Bubsy, he's back, what a guy!
