Dark Swords user review
This review will span over a couple months: My Background: I have played Darkswords on and off since 2006 I have been admin, mod, and helped write code for the game, It has seen its ups and down's, DS has long been ruled with a Iron fist and its players treated as walking wallets, and ban when they spoke out about it, I had hoped that had changed some now they had come to steam, well will see!
So why doesn't my health bar actually shrink when I take damage? Why am I killing things that are twice my level? Where are the mobs I need to kill for this quest? Why are you giving me quests to killing things 4x my level? And why doesn't my health and mana bars drop when I use mana and lose health?
Decent enough to have fun for a few hours i guess. Having the right ppl around you while playing is very helpful tho. I guess it'd be kinda boring alone
Initially this game was fun and exciting.
All round a really good game; Albeit the game is quite confusing as you're thrown into the game, having to grasp the U.I alone - But beyond that, this is an amazing game and I've had quite a fun time playing It thus far.
If suddenly you still remember those tube RPGs from zero sounds like Viking commercials, where chat was more important and the ability to establish contact with other players, then this is it.
I like the idea and gameplay. I enjoyed leveling.
Spent my first hour watching players 100+ levels above me steal my kills and take the loot, which I needed for a quest. As fun as that was, I don't think this game is for me.
I started playing text based games with Legends of Cosrin twenty-ish years ago. This feels very much the same, which is a great thing. It's much more graphical, and having the UI elements in in separate windows is a fantastic decision.
It's a good old school game with a lot of potential.
Couldn't even make it into the game to begin with had to try and register which I failed at spectacularly because it said my character name had to begin and end with a Latin letter, which after about 30 mins of internet searches to try and figure out what the hell they meant by that I gave up
Interesting game, but way to slow, moving around in this game is pure s**t.
1 out of 10! Can't Even Register A New Character
very confusing but somehow enjoyable rpg that reminds me of those old rpgs on my dinosaur flip phones' web browser. cant find this experience anywhere else!
