It's the American Wild West gone horribly wrong.
It began with rumours of terrifying creatures attacking people at the far frontier. Then the first town was wiped out. Now years have passed and everyone has fled east, leaving behind a ghost land.
You were part of an expedition to investigate the creatures and their origin. A fully stocked hot air balloon kept you all safely off the desert floor, until a sandstorm destroyed most of the airship and took the rest of your team with it.
Now you're the sole survivor, out of supplies and clinging to what's left of your airship as it drifts down towards the sand. You've spotted some wagons in the desert ahead and have just enough fuel to make it there. You might find supplies, and if you can scavenge enough to get back into the air then you might be able to limp from location to location and rebuild enough to fly far west, solve the mystery and stop the monsters...
But that means landing. The creatures are attracted to noise, and on the desert floor they can hear you scream.

Desert Skies user review
Paid $20 for 13hrs of fun. Well Worth it!
Honest over all its a decent game but it would be a lot better if it was multiplayer and if the game was a lot bigger there is only like 5 towns you go to and there is also like really no loot in the towns and after you go to all the towns it just takes you back to the first town which is kinda dumb a bunch of youtubers said this about this game and i completely agreed with them i"m only saying yes to recommend this game because its kinda fun but i got bored of it pretty quickly i was also hesitating to buy this game because i watched a youtuber play it but if they made the game so much bigger and added scarier creatures etc the game would over be great... Not trying to diss your game bc its somewhat fun but needs improvement because i feel like this game can be popular if there was more stuff in the game and more things you can do because your kinda trapped on you hot air balloon ship thing so you cant really do much besides quick loot and then leave to restart from the first town...
really unstable game. it crashes alot. but i think it would be a fun game once its finished.
Just when i thought i was done with it, another update hit and tied me in for another 10 hours. yes, it is early access, but it has great potential and it is clear that the Devs care. Simply by reporting some bugs and posting some feedback, i heard from the Devs directly. yes, i paid $20 for this game, and as an early access, i didn't pay for what the game is now, i'm paying for what this game is going to be, and from my experience, it's going to be great.
This is a review on day 2 after the first EA-release. The game is very similar to Raft in terms of gameplay, just you're flying instead of floating. It's core mechanics are in place and working, and it is fun to play around with them for a couple minutes.
Cant recommend for $20.
i love the game so far, i realize that it is in early access and i will enjoy seeing where it goes. i think the seeker physics could use some work, also i think the seeker is a little overpowered.
So Far, I LOVE it. It's a fantastic take on a new-ish survival mechanic, and the seeker is a bit scary. it does get confused by unusual terrain (such as jumping up on a crate), but other than that, it is truly terrifying. I am definitely coming back to this game, especially with the devs saying they'll update every 1-2 weeks. So excited to see what's in store for this little underdog of a game.
Like others, I don't feel there is enough content to justify the current price tag. While I recognize the Dev/s are working on it, there is just not much to do after a few hours. Boring and short lived is this titles current state.
Really nice game, with very much potential. I really want to see what the developers can do with this :D

I really enjoy the game. I love the little details you can find. There is a huge amount of potential, especially with the consistent effort to expand content and features for the game.
A Very nice game that can be calm at times and intense while running from the seeker
the blueprint for the bed will not show up when you exit or when the game crashes you loose the blueprint. i didn't make the bed so please add it each time you go there
fun game, really worth the $20. Hopefully, they add more stuff like maybe upgrading your balloon to be able to hold more fuel at one time, something like that. I have no rights to complain tho the game is in early access. Really looking forward to new updates and stuff
The game is to incomplete for the 20 dollar price tag.it's a passable game for a cheaper price, but 20 dollars is asking for a bit too much.
Super fun game. Definitely worth a closer look. And since you're here reading reviews, you are taking a closer look. The game is getting lots of attention from the developer and content is being added regularly. Great soundtrack really adds to the immersion. The artwork is delightful. The game is easy to learn and master while maintaining an engaging fear-factor of the game's main enemy.
Absolutely love this game and I am SOOO excited for the full release. The idea is so unique and has sucked me right into the world of Desert Skies despite the lore not
