Hunt down monsters to cook and eat them! You’ve been revived in a massive underground complex and you must leave this bizarre facility.
release date: 6 Jun, 2019
About This Game Hunt down monsters to cook and eat them! You’ve been revived in a massive underground complex and you must leave this bizarre facility. Aided by the undead Necro-Chef Simmer, you must stay safe, get fed and find a way to get out.
Dungeon Munchies is a side-scrolling action RPG with a focus on hunting down creatures, cooking them, and eating dishes to gain certain abilities. The combination of dishes you choose to eat will impact your entire play style.
Big Menu for a Big Stomach
With a stomach that can only take seven dishes, you must put together a meal that maximises your abilities. Guava juice, grilled shrimp, or crab stirfry may mean the difference between health recovery, damage output or a watery shield.
Tools of the Trade
Craft all kinds of deadly weapons out of the animal and plant parts you can't eat. Pair them with your favorite dishes to create the most overpowered combat combo.
Farm-fresh & Locally-sourced
In this day and age, ingredients are hard to come by. You should be prepared to face off electrical snails, razor-sharp shrimp claws, and laser wasps to get the delicious parts you need.
Something Doesn’t Feel Right...
From the self-professed-AAA-license-holding necro-chef, to the diabolical voodoo “Lord of the Forest”, to the radical revolutionaries of the fruit revolution, everyone wants you to do their thing, but no one's really right in the head. What’s really happening down in this dungeon?

Dungeon Munchies user review
a pretty good hack-and-slash with metroidvania elements
Really amazing plotline complimented by the silly and fun game mechanics with amazingly smooth controls... I can't express how smooth and rewarding the combat and controls feel in this game. Can't wait to see the plotline unravel, here's hoping that it'll be just as good.
I can't wait for the next story update on this gem.
I came in wanting to cook, fight some weird stuff, eat strange foods, and some adventure.
Blue balled right at the end. Great game so far though, really enjoyed. Probably the only real criticism for me is that there's very little reason to branch out into different weapons and try different loadouts. I usually either used dual wield axes with attack speed buffs, or if that didn't work spear and shield synergy. The magic weapons generally felt under powered imo. The bows are very powerful if you can land your hits, but I found it easier to use melee weapons.
I've managed to finish the game in one sitting. The only thing I can tell about this game is that it's great to the point that it keeps you hooked with its fluid combat and humor. Buying this at full price is well worth it for the content it gives, and you can tell how much love and dedication the developers put into this game if you do manage to play it. I highly recommend getting this game if you're into action RPG's mixed with a story line that balances both comedy and seriousness (yes, it does get serious when you reach the end). The controls are easy to pick up and hard to master, but once you do, you'll be having the time of your life trying to think up combos of your own.
food metroidvaina with a waifu, hell yeah
Simmer best waifu, fight me.
While I'm not great at writing reviews, I felt that this game in particular deserved one.
Didn't think much of the game at first but the cutscenes is what got me interested. The gameplay and overall story ended up being really good. Even though it's not fully completed yet, it's still a really good game and if you're a fan of Metroidvania style games, definitely give this one a go.
Good story, waifu ghost boss, and waifu antagonist. Can't wait to see this game completed!
VERY promising! But the controller support is a bit wonky and the humor after the dark reveal is a bit jarring, but not enough to break your immersion.
It was a little short (took me about 3 1/2 hours) and the ending was a little sudden - but to be fair it's still in early access and when it's released there'll definetely be more to it and overall it's a pretty good game.
very good game lots of freedom on how you play
Good game with a fun game play loop and interesting story.
