Eden Rising user review
A strange mix of MMO feel open-world resource gathering and tower defence. Is perfectly fine to play on your own, but having a buddy to team up with is highly recommended. Great free game!
Great concept, poor execution. Still potential If they don't let it die.
It's a fun game! Surprisingly enjoyable for a free title which, after I reached the end of the admittedly VERY lengthy demo phase, I bought the full version right away.
Nearing the final tech tiers I figure it is good a time as any to weigh in my thoughts on Eden Rising. This will be wordy but I feel game devs and consumers alike deserve a full response for their hard work/investment.
While I haven't reviewed many games on Steam, I had to make an exception for Eden Rising: Supremacy. I've bought into plenty of Early Access titles that have made me swear to never believe in the hype again. Thankfully, Eden Rising has bucked the trend and made me believe that developers can produce EA games that are full featured and fun - while still having plenty more in store for those who eagerly await the next patches. Below is the story of the one crucial moment that made me a believer, and even though it's a bit long, I hope it will give people sitting on the fence an idea of what the world has in store for them.
A nice hybrid of several genres.
Not a fan of the chosen implementation of F2P; calling it "F2D (Free-to-Demo)" would be a more accurate description. Content is literally not available to you unless you buy the ascendant edition.
Really cool concept however its really shifty for the Devs to list it as "free to play" when its just the demo.
Not solo friendly. There is a solo option but it eventually becomes not viable.
Amazing game - really fun features, great world, no bugs experienced whatsoever. The pay model is SUPER clever - only 1 person in a group of friends needs to buy the actual game to unlock for their friends on the server. This is beyond generous of them to do this & also let us see so much content in the free version. Absolutely thumbs up, wish I could thumbs up it twice because I think folks are being a little unfair on the reviews of this game because they don't understand how the pay-system works.
game did not allow changing of graphics settings i set eveything to low to try to run it on my computer and none of the graphics options had any affect it said they were off but the settings were still on absolutely unplayable on a lower end computer
It's good. Don't take my word for it, it's free, play it yourself.
Dismissing some of the combat animation clunkiness .. and lag spikes here and there.. the game is overall pretty good so far.
What they say is true, the combat is very bear bones and clunky. Turned it off in the first ten minutes as pressing dodge makes you dodge 2 seconds later.
I think I might've found something to enjoy in a really long time.
I did not like the game. the game-play and the lack of character customization was disappointing. Someone else might enjoy this game but I would not recommend it.
This game has potential...That 25 bucks however...Is it free to play or is it having identity issues?
