Couch co-op games are hard to come by and this is a really fun one!
Now before you're put off by this game because it's made by the killer keem and his team - I'd like people to give it a chance.
When I started betatesting this game, probably the last thing i expected was an intro with great voice acting and a story. I sat there enthralled in the story, looking behind the welcome text at the animation. I did not expect the graphics and effects - especially with the ability to spam explosion effects by hitting two left mouse buttons at a rapid pace - to be so welcoming on my laptop. I certainly was not expecting the game to - thus far - thwart my every attempt to break my character out of bounds, even at this early a stage. Yet, that is exactly what i got. A brilliant game.
Gnamoancer is a twin stick adventure game where you summpn little lawn gnomes to do battle for you. The concept is easy to understand. kill stuff with big armies of gnomes and have fun doing it. I would suggest that new players should not over think this one. This is a small dev team that is very active in updating the game and, unlike many AAA developers is actually doing work towards making the game as good as it can be. While in game there are plenty of signs , tutorial stuff and an ingame menu for your controls that you can look at to learn everything you need to know about being a master of a gnome army. Go and read that stuff. it takes like 30 seconds. I have already put a good chunk of time into this title and I have become very good at getting my army to do what ever i tell it to do. once you get into the mindset that your gnomes are your weapon you can really start to have some fun with the game. $10 is an easy sell for a game that looks like it has more effort put into it than most of the garbage that comes out these days. pick it up and give it a try.
really fun to play. i love the story line and having a army or gnomes, but there are a few stuff that annoy me and probably others.
if you actually bought this game and didnt just get it from one of keemstars 1000 giveaways youre ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. its awful
When I see a new game launch that calls itself a "twin stick shooter", I think about great furious action bullet hell games with solid, fluid controls like Geometry Wars or "Super Stardust" from the Playstation.
A great chaotic couch coop game. Definitely following this one as it develops.
I'm only a couple of hours in and having a blast. You got your gnome puns, your gnome armies and a cute whimsical graphical style of bouncy statues. Don't forget to level up! I got impatient and just started and found the first level a bit difficult even on the easiest level: fluffy. With some leveling though, it turns the tide of battle in a big way. I didn't notice the help until after I started the game and paused, but who wants to read before playing anyway? I'll come back and update this review as I get more time in. The gameplay itself works very well for me, especially for an EA.
Overall Gnomancer is a very good game thought as you would expect from early access there are still a few things that don't function properly like that the error log shows about 10 errors in a second, multiplayer works but steam does not like older controllers. But otherwise a great game and i can't wait to see whats next for the game 10/10 stars.
So far I'm enjoying the game even though it's currently in early access but overall it's working nicely and is quite a bit of fun. I didn't bother reading the help info until I'd already played about 2 hours but it's pretty easy to pick up the basic mechanics yet it still has the promise of challenges yet to come. I've played enough now that I'm eager to get some more challenging skill settings. The best part, of course, is GNOMES! Nothing like building up a grand army of gnomes to face off against evil :)
Gnomancer Early Access is a game about injecting garden gnomes with life to raise a mighty army of gnomes in order to fight the evil Voldar who wants to conquer the human world.
