About This Game
Idle Chess Story is a strategy game with fun decisions. Players take on enemy AI Players in a gauntlet where the goal is to reach the highest amount of rounds possible.
During the shopping phase, you chose what units you want to buy and place on the chess board, then, during the fighting phase, your units fight against enemy units to the death.
The player with the last unit surviving wins the duel and is rewarded a hefty gold bounty. Careful with losing too many units! Reach 0 HP and the game is over.
Every unit belongs to two tribes. Gather enough units of the same tribe and unlock powerful bonuses for your allies. Having 3 or 6 units of the same tribe is enough to unlock the bonuses. Use your gold wisely on units of the same type to quickly attain these bonuses to take control over your enemy.

Idle Chess Story user review
Ok, this is stupid. Firstly, for anyone out there, the name is a LIE. There is no real "story" to speak of, and it's not idle. Secondly, it's very RNG-centric. You can fight level 2 enemies in your first 5 fights, and 1 level 2 enemy can demolish you. The bosses feel unoriginal and just damage sponges more than anything else, I have no idea what the hell abilities do/how to check, some units feel drastically underpowered, and the AI is abysmal, throwing your units into groups of 3, almost as if it's trying to get you killed. All in all, whilst the idea was nice, it's poorly executed (And probably an asset flip, too).
I am indifferent about this game. There could be more of a tutorial to tell us how we should deploy our pieces. I think there is potential for this to be a good game. It is an early access game so I will wait for a few updates to see how the game progresses. This isn't a chess game or and idle game it is more of a tower defense type of game to me.
Single player riff on Dota2 auto-chess, done pretty well for people who aren't super-competitive like me. I wasn't that great at the Dota2 version and I'm not that great at this one but I look forward to messing around with different class combinations. So far I've made it to wave 20 with a warrior/guardian/undead hybrid. How far can you go?
There's "idle" and there's "I can't do anything that would allow me to win". Just look at the boss fight in the trailer video and see how even a tribe bonus with a decent line-up can't even beat the boss. Boss kills you = start over.
Fun little game that you can run while playing some other games while waiting for a round to be over. There are a fair amount of party combinations you can try out and see how far they can get you. I'm also a big fan of the pawn level system, which takes 3 pawns of one level to upgrade it to the next in a game. The RNG is pretty fair as well.
This isn't an idle game, that or I'm completely missing the idle mechanic. I beat it on easy and on medium, so it's not like I'm not looking for it. As far as anything Chess related, it's on a checkerboard. As far as story is concerned, there really isn't any. Nothing in the title of the game really is in the game. The only reason why I'm allowing myself a positive review for this game is that it kept me entertained for about an hour for no cost. Wasn't really super thrilled the entire ride. Hopefully with time this will flesh out to be something more engaging.
You know, when you set a game to EASY, it should be relatively EASY. Clearly the developers have little to no experience in gaming.
Calling this game Idle is a huge understatement, You cannot sit idle and look as conquest progresses. Also randomness of shop, incremental costs or rerolls, Limited area for backup units (needed to upgrade). And so called ONE SHOT FRIGGIN` WONDERS that spawn once a 5 levels or so... NO BALANCE, TOTAL RANDOMNESS, LACK OF ANY THINKING.
i do not simply recommend this game unless u like winning a game and then...then what? do nothing, just a 30min game max, would be alot better to have unlimited rounds /more enemies/different control mechanism and more ways to obtain items/mobs
Interesting game for everyone. Easy to play, but quite challenging. The logic behind the game has a lot in common with chess (you decide your move and wait to see your opponent’s reaction) and with cards (you can have a good or a bad deal at every round). Once you have learned the basics, you can expend some time developing strategies to improve yourself and beat your best score. Even if there is a lot left to chance, it is still a strategy game. The downside of strategy games is that they are usually very time consuming, but Idle Chess Story does not force you to play continuously, it is more like playing chess using a card deck and without a chess clock. The animation is kind of cute and the sound matches nicely with the action.
this ♥♥♥♥ me pp
It's quite fun but at first is a little bit confusing
????
Poor optimization, too slow pace of each round... this is the single lamest implementation of "gauntlet auto chess", while Heroes Auto Chess (mobile) implements the Gauntlet mode of auto chess very well.
