I'd recommend getting this game for 20$ or less as its content is bare bones, as for Netplay its ♥♥♥
I'd really like to recommend this game as it is really well made. the art style is nice with a good soundtrack. The gameplay is simple and fun for a casual little fighter. Plus the card system is super unique and well done. Unfortunately I can't recommend this game, the online play for this game is so unbelievably awful that it might as well not even exist. If the net play was functional or even just descent this would be a solid fighting game. Hopefully one day they fix this.
When people said the netcode was bad I thought, "it can't be that bad, people say the same about other games but everyone keeps playing, they must not be used to a bit of lag". What a mistake. THIS GAME HAS THE WORST NETCODE I'VE EVER SEEN. I haven't seen UNIST's netcode yet but I'm sure MAAB's must be similar or worse. Every match feels like I'm playing someone from another continent.
lots of fun, and not as complex as some of examu's other games. but still endlessly deep with all the assist combinations.
This game is awessome. Really cool characters with nice combos and good variety of assists to make different types of gameplay even with it's small cast.
I really like the simplicity of the game, and the aesthetics. the only thing i think should change is there are no settings for if you are using a Fight Stick or anything. the only control settings are Xbox controller or keyboard. took me a while to figure out which button was which on my Stick
MAAB is a game I've been playing on the PS4 since March, and I honestly believe it deserves more of a playerbase. The roster is diverse, the game feels unique, and all of its mechanics compliment each other well. If you can't find anyone to play with however, the game is barren, with only the bare minimum in single player content. You'll get training, an arcade mode, and a story mode that's practically just an expanded arcade mode with unlockable images for the gallery. It doesn't help that all 3 of these modes are rather sub-par by fighting game standards. If you're not interested in any match footage floating around on the web, just wait for a price drop or updated version to come eventually.
Before I start, I need to preface this with the fact that I think that MAAB is a great fighting game that I think all fighting game fans should check out. All the characters in the game feel unique and the massive selection of assists gives you a lot of choice on how you want to handle playing your character. (I personally think 13 playable characters is fine in this game, but everyone will feel different on roster size.) You've also got Reisz (from Trials of Mana) and Iori (from KoF) as guest characters. I've been playing it on PS4 and I've had tons of fun with it.
THEY ♥♥♥♥ING REMOVED NICE CHIN CHIN ON THE PC RELEASE WHYYYYY
+ Gameplay seems very balanced
the game is fun and has some cool mechanics, but overall seems a bit on the cheap side for a 40$ game. only buy if your a big fighting gamer and need a new game to play. otherwise there are better options. personally i think 20$ is a better price point. if you have 40$ and want a really good fighting game with good value buy fighting ex layer if you dont already have it. like i said this game is good just not 40$ good...
fast paced anime action you have to love it
