Ninja Legends was crafted for VR from the ground up and offers a uniquely fast-paced melee combat experience only possible with vr. The gameplay rewards skillful blocking and parrying to fend off increasingly difficult swarms of enemy ninjas. Slashes with great pace and accuracy are rewarded with more damage and satisfying slicing of enemies. To advance through all the levels you must learn the proper rhythm and timing in which to execute blocks, parries, melee attacks and ranged attacks. In other words, you must become a Ninja Legend!
Dynamic slicing means your swordplay determines the cut placement and angle.
A VR Ninja must not have a favorite weapon. Learn to wield these claws.
The reach of the Bo Staff provides a unique combat style. Blunt weapons won't slice enemies in half, but they may send them flying!

Ninja Legends user review
This is my single favorite game to date and my second favorite game for exercise after Thrill of the Fight. Put any scene on Hero mode and you have an amazing HIIT workout even if you don't focus on learning better technique. So many other games that I play for exercise have long intro or loading sequence, but with Ninja Legends I can get right down to fighting, and the sword usage is two-handed which is fantastic.
I absolutely recommend this game, but it's not going to be for people who are looking for realistic sword fighting or role playing. For me, I was attracted to the idea of being a ridiculously strong ninja in VR, and just creating a bloodbath destroying enemies. This is normal, right? Anyway, the game delivered.
If you are looking for some arcadey ninja fun, this game will scratch the itch but I feel like there are better options out there. Depending on what exactly you are looking for I would recommend Swords of Gargantua, Gorn or Knockout League. You can see my full review here -
Best workout Vr game I've played so far. Easy to learn, very tiring to master. Great wave slasher. Buy it for the fitness, play it for the fun.
This is a pretty good game! I like how hard it is and I was sweating buckets after 15 minutes of playing.
combat isn't satisfying. Close but it's still lacking feedback. You feel detached from the combat because the enemies don't react to every hit so you don't know if you're doing damage until they fall apart. Strangely enough the enemies that are one hit kill are the most satisfying. Game would be better if it was one hit kills basically fruit ninja with blocking. It would feel more like real combat where when you get a legit opening you feel that it mattters.
I can't stress enough that this is an early access review. This game has HUGE potential. The fact that the devs responded to me makes me wonderfully hopeful.
4 stars! It is not a wave shooter- its a wave slasher! Sooo much fun. It is not perfect, but it is a blast to play.
I recently got into VR because I heard a bunch of hype and this is one of the first games I've played that really connected with me. So VR is new to me. I do most of my gaming on consoles otherwise.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
Played through the campaign and some of the extra. It's fun, you get some cardio in, no crashing, loads very quick -- it'll be a good one to jump in, play a level or two for 15 minutes and jump out. It has multiple weapons and specials but certainly repeats itself but if you like the format then it works well.
VALVE INDEX REVIEW – THUMBS UP
its ♥♥♥♥ just get blade and sorcery if you wanna slice dudes up
Ninja legends is pretty simplistic all things considered. it’s a wave based hack and slash where you slice and dice hordes of shinobi and then move onto the next mission rinse repeat, you do get new weapons and skills to switch between so the combat never gets repetitive or stale. You can deflect incoming attacks which causes slow down effect allowing you to strike your foes quickly and precisely. The faster and more precise your cut the easier it is to dispatch your foes as they get dismembered in a gooey red mist. I really enjoy the games combat it’s pretty easy to pick up, the use of special abilities is fun too things like a bow and arrow or even a shadow ball on top of many others I haven’t really unlocked yet really make the game tons of fun to play! This lends itself to a great party experience seeing how you can easily pass the headset around and it creates for some fun moments. The shinobi are also pretty diverse from generic sword fighters, claw users, and the big tanky generals. If there’s things that could change I would like the sound cues to be a bit more precise, it’s really frustrating to get swarmed with enemies that appear behind you at the last minute ultimately ending a run. And no the tiny little arrow won’t do enough! Also some more music would be nice to add the same track over and over throughout each level gets a bit grading to say the least. I know it’s a indie team so I won’t be too harsh and vr is still a growing market but in terms of core gameplay this is a must buy for any new Vr owner especially for quest users!
Ninja Legends, Better than Swords Of Gargantua
Great fun. The settings of each board are very well thought out and beautifully executed. Enemies have fun variations so you feel like your really progressing. The boss fights are intense!!!
This game is a workout, and I mean that is a good way.
Wow, I can't recommend this game enough. I have to admit that the experience started off a bit slow for me, but after I got through the first few levels, unlocked some weapons and moved up in difficulty (I've been playing mostly Master difficulty) the experience has been AMAZING. I just love the feeling of standing my ground and fighting tons of ninjas for all over the place, I feel like I'm in an insane ninja action movie! My favorite levels by far are the 360 degree levels where the enemies attack from all sides, I've replayed those levels countless times trying to get three stars on them (it's so hard!). Another thing I love is the fact that you keep unlocking weapons and special powers throughout the game, so replaying the levels with different weapons gives it an entirely different experience. And how can I not mention what a freakin' workout this is! If you need a good 20-30 minute cardio workout, look no further (just make sure to have a towel handy).
