Bearing in mind that it's early access it's actually a decent game to this point. The art style is nice and the music (though limited at present) adds some nice atmosphere. Given how many systems this game has (commodity trading, storage, factory purchase/supply/operation and indirect city builder) it actually runs fairly good. There will be the odd bug that pops up but if that's a concern then I would advise waiting for the full release. Otherwise it's a fun addition if you liked games like Transport Tycoon/Locomotion.
Wait for the finished product - if there ever is one. Just too many flaws to recommend the pre-release version. Not sure it will be worth buying even at full release. I had hoped this would live up to/improve upon the old Railroad Tycoon series but it fails miserably. Boring and limited engine options - here is your only engine option - research to get the next one - which might be worse... Track laying likes circles - everything is a turn. Trains get bottled up - no signals to correct - I just deleted trains until they started moving again. Campaign is playable - but easy - and is too formulaic and repetitious to play a second time - I did because I am a glutton for punishment and they offered achievements...
It shows potential but everything incredibly buggy. Placing rail is incredibly buggy, train routing is buggy, trains can easily get stuck with no escape. Lot of stupid UI choices like can not fix train route when it us used by same train (which is buggy why you wanted to fix it in first place). Every feature that can be done good or stupid is done in a stupid way. Endless bugs will prevent you doing missions well, right now the gameplay is mostly "fix core engine bugs by micromanaging everything in UI".
Initially impressed but that didn't last too long.
This isn't just early access, this is alpha development.
Pretty interesting game. Reminds me a good old Railroad Tycoon delux, but with tech tree, employees and trading department.
Having fun with the game. Big problem is when you get to much going and the game starts to Lag and slow way down and even freezes. At that point the trains are either all in the stations or just a very few are going at a stop and go pace and I start losing money. Playing only in the Free Game mode (Sandbox) to learn the game. Hopefully will have more updates soon!
Promising alpha version. Mapping needs serious work (Baltimore should have a harbor, California cities shouldn't be in Ohio, etc.) and the tutorial needs to get beefed up a bit. It's on the right track, no pun intended.
Its to easy in multiplayer 15-30min and the game is over to easy not really a challange
Warning: this is an early access game. I know. This review may seem to have some vitriol, but it is not. I just want to see these guys make a super good game, they already have the building blocks for it.
Company is semi idiotic in where it is going with the game, instead of one to two clicks to set up a route it has 14 to 15. When it is brought up how to do it easier the person is told to do it the long way and forget about easy. The dev team then goes out of thier way to attempt to prove the player incorrect, when it is pretty obviose that one to two steps is better than ten +
Enjoy the sandbox gameplay and personal challenge. You'll find yourself lost for hours exploring the possibilities. Highly recommended. Would like to see more detail in the stats for individual engines. Perhaps in a future release. Enjoy!
Disappointed in the mechanics of the game play. Can not form a Y connection on track that can be used by my train, something to do with the speed. Became frustrating to the point of giving up. Still waiting for that one game that mirrors and improves on RT3 which unfortunately no longer runs properly on WIN10.
