This game is NOT LIKE "Slay The Spire".
This game doesn't revolutionize any genre. That shouldn't be what we judge a game by, though, in my opinion. I enjoyed the story, I enjoyed messing around with different card combos, i just flat out enjoyed the game. It was worth its price point, and I hope they make more.

Pretty much bought this as soon as it was released on PC, since I absolutely loved the other steamworld games.
A really amazing turn-based strategy card game!
An entertaining take on the deck builder, card battler genre. Unlike Slay the Spire and it's clones, this game decides to do something different and wrap it's card collecting and deck building inside of a simple lite RPG framework. Characters have basic stats and a few equipment slots that help stats, as well as weapons that give a unique ability in combat.
What went wrong with the studio? The Steamworld Dig & Heist games (all of them!) used to be some of the best 2D games I ever played. Huge fan here! I didn’t think so long before purchasing this Steamworld Quest.
I wanted this game to be like Slay the Spire. It was not like Slay the Spire. In the relatively little time I spent playing, it seemed to have limited potential for creativity or emergent gameplay, the things I like most about games. I did not like the writing/storytelling. I am sure this game is many people's cup of tea. It was not mine. If you came to this game from Slay the Spire then know that it is not that, and you should do a little more investigating than I did before buying.
I finally finished this game. I really did like the game. It was amusing and I liked the puzzles. In a way, many of the battles were strategic as to who would be in my party and what cards to have in my deck. I would have liked to see more puzzles though. The battles were not too challenging except when the enemy healed a lot. At times there was a lot of repetitive fighting. I didn't like to have to do a lot of grinding in order to battle further in the game. All in all though it was an enjoyable game and there was enough variety in choices to make it interesting.
This game surprised me, I thought it would be a lighthearted and casual experience like Steamworld: Dig. Instead, its a challenging, tactical, and deep card-based game that requires some real thinking.
A good small game.
A casual and utterly beautiful game. Playing through SteamWorld Quest was heartwarming and provided the right amount of challenge on the Legend difficulty to keep it entertaining while making you stand on your toes, while the classic tale about good and evil and camaraderie unfolded.
Taking the Slay the Spire approach of gameplay and applying as the battle mechanics, this game is very fun. Tons of ways to build your team and build each member's deck. If you enjoy Slap the Spire, you'll greatly enjoy this. With that said, the story is very, very bland. Characters will join the party for no real reason, reveals happen with a meh reaction, motivations are weak, villains are also weak in character and motivation, overall, just a bland story. I don't want to call the story bad, just not interesting and I often found myself skipping the story to start exploring. And for an RPG to have a bland story, that would be the killer for this game. Thankfully the gameplay is very fun, as I said. Exploration isn't very interesting as well. Puzzle are few and very simple. Treasure isn't that hard to find.
Amazing game!
Thumb Up
Great.
Parody storeline, obnoxious gameplay... ????
