A solo approach to the Talisman boardgame.
An intriguing idea, a solo version of Talisman where you fight the monsters and gather the loot, but instead of doing it to beat other players, you do it to perform quests instead as you work through various stories. While you're not playing with other people, it's still a fun experience as you go around gathering power to complete the quests, and it definitely feels like playing Talisman. But, the game actually moves quicker, as you don't have to wait for other players to take their turns, as soon as your turn is done, you take your next turn.
Another incredible game that is insanely frustrating to play. Give achievements to those who have hours to put into this. I love this game, but it is so unbalanced and random, and that would be FINE if we have save points, the philosopher’s quest, 8 parts, insta perms death in the last few cards is just plain tedious. I’m BORED replaying the same thing a hundred times just to have an AI roll doubles and end it all. And THEN, the other chapters are locked behind completing the previous chapters? Rebalance, at saves, or unlock all chapters. WHY are such basic things forgone? You made a great game! Please make it playable!
Basically this is Talisman Prologue but with much more bells and whistles. No longer feeling like a overblown demo for Talisman: Digital, we finally have a campaign system for a wonderful game. If they say you get a dollar an hours worth for a good game, then thousands of hours in Talisman would say that when I say this good, i mean it.
Wow! What a fantastic gift the makers of Talisman have given us! This takes you back to the beginning of the talisman world, with the creation of the crown of command and continues through the resulting havoc.
Just like Talisman but with a single player story campaign and quests. If you enjoy Talisman, you will enjoy this.
It's talisman with all sorts of single play missions instead of the normal board.
If you own any of the previous Talisman-games, you don't need this game. It's not even a true solo-game, it's just the game with the AI taken out and it shows. Asmodee didn't even think it fit to have the tutorial reflect that we're having a solo-game. It happily talks to you about playing with a full group.
Wow. I've almost wracked up a full day's worth of play with this game. It's very addictive.
RNG insta death galore, no character progression, it's not a game it's a roll dicing simulator. And I don't complain about RNG when I play X-COM, just saying..
What is even the point? The charm of any tabletop game is to have fun with your friends and share an adventure.
I couldn't even finish the tutorial, random encounters where nearly everything is more powerful than you with insta death and no saving game equals no thanks. Doesn't help you need to keep clicking through multiple times just to roll the dice and sit through your ai opponents turns as well, even the skip option just speeds it up.
Do you love being endlessly pummeled in a fantasy setting, but suck at Dark Souls? Do your friends run screaming incoherently whenever you suggest playing Talisman with them? Well the RNG gods have answered your prayers because Talisman Origins is here! With many of the expansions built in, and actual campaigns and missions for a single player to do... it's more than a Talismanaphile could have dreamed of.
This is great game. A little buggy in a few spots, with UI transitions mostly, but otherwise works well and is a lot of fun.
