Unrailed! user review
Simple, fun game good for a group of four. Reminds me a lot of games like Overcooked. Good fun over comms or as couch co-op.
I had the chance to try the game at the Ludicious Game Festival in Zürich in 2018. It was a blast back then and we quickly made a new Highscore that nobody beat during the whole festival.
I LOVE this game! It's so charming and relaxing, even though it can be frantic at times. It has the same charm as Overcooked and is a great party game with friends.
6 hours in: Easy mode is in fact very VERY hard (especially after getting the 3rd engine). I still highly recommend, but there should be an easier mode. That being said, it didnt stop me and a few buds trying to see how far we could get for a few hours straight. Very addictive. 9/10
This needs LAN play. Playing with people across the house requires me to connect to an outside server, and my internet connection is 'spotty' a lot of the time, making it impossible to play.
Super fun but should be played with friends!
My friends and i love this game a lot! But i sill wish there would be a function of ''save/load'' in the endless gamemode...otherwise keeping restart is killing us...
This game is like Overcooked, but with TRAINS!!! Very similar control mechanics, with that slight "slippery" feel on movement. Cut/Mine wood and rock to make your track, and beat the clock as your train speeds up. Dynamite changes EVERYTHING once you get (and upgrade it), so be ready.
fun to play, lobby system needs some work tho
This game is great and fill the teamwork gaming itch similar to Overcooked 2. It is all about efficiency and prioritizing what is needed. You need wood and iron to make train tracks, but often one resource is further away or blockading the route, which action would you prioritize? When you see an action needed how would you communicate to your teammates or will you drop what you are doing and take the action?
The game is unplayable alone, and when you try to match with others, the others randomly drop out of the session and you're left playing the impossible game yourself. My friend dropped out of the session and the game was ruined. Also, there is no possibility to queue with your friend to get matched with others. For a multiplayer game, it's strange that the core multiplayer features are still not working, be it early access or not.
Really fun game and I recommend it.
Very entertaining, getting a lot out of its simple concept. My biggest complaint is really that the game doesn't communicate a lot about what the different wagon upgrades do. Over the three hours I've played so far with my friends, none of us have figured out what the animal "milking" wagon does; we connect it to cows and so far have never seen any tangible results. I'm also not sure there's a point to the compass wagon existing, as we tend to just see it point... East. You know, the assumed direction that the game is going to flow no matter what. The in-game tutorial only demonstrates the most basic controls, and I think some kind of detailed run-down of the reasons to use each possible upgrade could be helpful.
Gamepads (dialog) not work, windows 10.
I really want to like this game. It has a nice art style, simple controls, and a neat concept. But if you don't have another person with you, you can't play ANY of the modes. Not even joining another server. Maybe they can make a single player mode for people who don't have anyone to play with. But for the time being, it's pointless to buy otherwise.
Foreword: You can only pick yes or no recommendations. This should get a "How the hell should I know."
god game if you have friends to play with
I really love this game. Its simple competitive and makes you think which possible way would be best to place tracks. Im hoping to play with a group of four people as I have only played with 3 but other than that 3 people is fine and is easy. One bug that i'm sure will be fixed is that when the water tank overheats, all audio but the sounds your character makes freezes until you cool down the tank again. A combination of that and dynamite usage will for some reason crash your game and can be a little frustrating. I'm also excited for versus which I have not yet played and think would be fun.
Bought this game with a friend, played for 3 hours, then bought the supporter pack. Absolutely no regrets and can't wait to sit down and play again.
